Mulberry offers entire collection for first time with New York flagship addition

mulberry-aw-2011-185British retailer Mulberry opened its largest and third retail location in New York Sept. 6, and for the first time will offer its entire collection in-store in the United States.

Other British retailers such as Burberry, Top Shop and Jack Wills have taken the U.S. markets by storm just as American designers are not hesitating to set up shop in London’s premiere shopping districts. Mulberry’s third physical presence is not breaking in to U.S. commerce, but the brand’s undeniable power and hype is leading experts to weigh in on why Britain and the United States are so closely connected.

“Every 20 years or so, we have a British invasion, whether it is fashion, music or politics,” said Rex Whisman, president of BrandED Consultants Group, Denver. “[Britain] and the U.S. have always had connections since the beginning of the country, and I feel like Americans have a special connection to the British.
