French fashion house Balenciaga is launching a limited-edition collection.
The brand has released a Valentine’s Day capsule, now available online and in select stores worldwide. The special-edition drop features the “Love Equation,” a central graphic inspired by the work of British theoretical physicist Paul Dirac.
Season of love
February 2026 marks the return of the Balenciaga Valentine series.
This year, the brand’s signature t-shirts and fitted hoodies receive the punk treatment, featuring a washing technique that forms crinkles and intense distressing, including frayed edges and holes. Balenciaga’s original graphic strikes a sharp contrast with the dark-toned garments it appears upon.
Mr. Dirac’s formula is based on the concept of quantum entanglement, or the idea that two particles can stay linked despite distance.

The “Love Equation” is applied in red across the themed capsule, and “acts as a poetic metaphor for the way that love between people persists through time and space,” expressed on the front of the as “a set of symbols equaling 0,” and “on the back, a longer explanation of what these symbols mean, scientifically speaking,” a statement from the brand reads.
The women's and men’s Dirac Equation Fitted T-shirt retails for $750 and $875, respectively. The men’s Dirac Equation Pulled Zip-up Hoodie retails for $1,790.
The conceptual capsule represents the first Balenciaga Valentine’s Day project released under creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli (see story).
