French fashion house Nina Ricci is bidding farewell to its artistic lead.

On March 11, Harris Reed, the maison’s creative director, stepped down from his post to refocus solely on his namesake apparel brand. Parent company Puig has yet to name a successor.

“After three and a half extraordinary years at the helm of Nina Ricci, it is now time to say farewell and turn my full attention to my own namesake label,” said Mr. Reed, in a statement posted to Instagram.

“I am leaving Nina Ricci with a heart full of gratitude and a profound appreciation for all that my time there has given me,” he said. “My deepest thanks go to Puig and to the entire Nina Ricci team.

“Truly, to step into a heritage house that not only welcomed, but actively championed my imagination, has been an honor beyond words.”

Next steps
Mr. Reed took the helm of Nina Ricci in late 2022, introducing his flamboyant-yet-elegant style to the 95-year-old label’s signatures.

On March 6, the outgoing creative director presented his final runway show for the house, highlighting his fall/winter 2026 collection. The event saw many friends of the brand, including models Kika Gomez, Valentina Zenere and Ashley Graham, among others, appear on-stage for Mr. Reed’s sendoff.

“When I first arrived at Nina Ricci, I was 26 years old, not long graduated, single and still finding my footing while learning how to stand confidently with an unconventional voice,” said Mr. Reed, in a statement.

“Today, I leave having learned and grown so much, and I am so excited to enter this next chapter of my life with my husband (and dog) beside me, in a home that I love, ready to take my own company into its next chapter,” he said. “Thank you to every single person that has helped me and been a part of this journey.”

Last month, Italian fashion label Versace filled its vacant creative director seat with Belgian fashion designer Pieter Mulier (see story).
