Italian menswear brand Zegna is taking action in the art world.

The label has signed a multiyear global partnership agreement with international art fair Art Basel. As an official partner of the event, Zegna will be present at the fairs in Basel, Miami Beach, Paris and Hong Kong, creating themed experiences around the convergence of art, design, culture and responsible entrepreneurship on-site.

“For over a century, our family has believed in the power of art to elevate places, enrich lives and shape culture,” said Gildo Zegna, chairman and CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, in an interview with WWD.

“This partnership with Art Basel and Cittadellare is a natural evolution of that belief — a way to honor our legacy while looking forward,” Mr. Zegna said. “At Zegna, we see art not as embellishment, but as an agent of change.

“By supporting socially engaged artists through the ‘Visible’ project, we’re reinforcing our commitment to a future where creativity, community and responsibility can thrive together.”

“Visible,” a collaborative project between Italian art center Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto and Fondazione Zegna, anchors the announcement.

The fellowship program supports “socially engaged artistic practices.” To this end, the luxury brand will celebrate Italian painter Michelangelo Pistoletto’s Nobel Peace Prize win at the event, while pending recipients of the 2025 Visible Situated Fellowship, focused on talents who address environmental and social issues through their work, will be announced at the flagship Art Basel show, taking place in Switzerland on June 19, 2025.

To further commemorate the partnership, Zegna will give out limited-edition tote bags filled with spotlighted works by Stockholm-based illustrator Cecilia Carlstedt, each of which is sourced from the recently released Born in Oasi Zegna book.

According to a joint report from Art Basel and wealth management firm UBS Global, industry-wide art sales dipped 12 percent in 2024 (see story).
